WHAT IS A VOCATIONAL RETURN TO WORK COUNSELOR (VRTWC)?
WHAT IS A VOCATIONAL RETURN TO WORK COUNSELOR (VRTWC)?
Vocational & return to work counselor (VRTWC) means a person or entity capable of assisting a person with a disability with development of a return to work strategy and whose regular duties involve the evaluation, counseling and placement of disabled persons.

Includes, but not limited to:
- Providing one-on-one counseling, vocational evaluations, labor market information, training resources and resume preparation.
- Compassion and pro-active work ethic.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
A custom vocational objective will ensure the client will receive the most from their retraining voucher. Carrillo Consulting offers top-tier education options and flexibility by working with all state approved schools.
Carrillo Consulting assists clients with services including the $5,000 benefit from the Return-to-Work Fund, for those injured on or after 1/1/13.

Vocational Consultant:
- Counsel individuals to maximize independence and employability of persons coping with vocational difficulties.
- Assess needs, design, and implement vocational programs that include worker evaluations, motivational counseling, implementation of placement services, and job-seeking skill training.
- Contact face to face to discuss rehabilitation requirements for return to work transitions.
- Professionally deal with clients, physicians, and other professionals, ensuring that privacy regulations and confidentiality rules
are observed.

Return-to-Work Coordinator:
- Work with employers, employees, and medical providers to help bring injured employees back to work as soon as medically possible.
- Utilize pre-injury descriptions, job site analysis, and ergonomic evaluations to achieve the goal.
- Comply with the American with Disability Act and the Fair Employment Housing Act.
- Conduct on-site job evaluations to help provide a detailed description of the required technical and physical skills, specific essential job function, and their usual customer occupation.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations on specific job or entire workplace to evaluation the physical characteristics of the work area and how employees relate to their environment.
- Review candidate qualifications.
- Contact healthcare providers to clarify incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Communicate regularly with workers’ compensation adjusters, HR service members, and department designees.
- Record, document, and manage case files and log notes, including conversations, assignment changes, and/or change in restrictions.
- Effectively deal with people of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Appropriately respond to sensitive and/or confidential issues.
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
